Ross Cole

Ross Cole is Associate Professor of Music at the University of Leeds and author of The Folk: Music, Modernity, and the Political Imagination (University of California Press, 2021), which was awarded the Society for Ethnomusicology’s Bruno Nettl Prize. In 2024 he received a prestigious Philip Leverhulme Prize from the Leverhulme Trust. He is editor of The Cambridge Companion to Folk Music (Cambridge University Press, 2026) and currently at work on a book on vaporwave.
