Lake of Snakes was founded in 2014 to reinvigorate the classic power trio line-up, crucially replacing the standard guitar with huge, wailing saxophones. Heavily groove based, this Sax-Bass-Drum trio focus on circular dub grooves and interlocking rythms before bursting seamlessly into passages of incinerating free-rock-free-jazz mayhem. Equal parts Noxagt and Peter Brotzmann and out to inflict serious amounts of tinnitus, Lake of Snakes is made up of members of Gnod, Horrid, Skulldozer and features the founder of Tombed Visions records behind the horn.
