tellKujira is Ambra Chiara Michelangeli (viola), Francesco Diodati (guitar), Stefano Calderano (guitar) and Francesco Guerri (cello). The ensemble was born in 2020 as an “imperfect” chamber quartet, with two electric guitars instead of violins. Its music moves between contemporanea, electronics, art rock and free jazz, making use of a collective writing methodology that is a direct derivation of their improvisation sessions. tellKujira is co-produced by Area Sismica and the Emilia Romagna Music Commission, and its next record will be released in November on Superpang.
