Curator of ‘The Noisy Women Present’ and the ‘Noisy People’s Improvising Orchestra’. She plays bowed string instruments, piano and percussion and uses voice and movement. She is also a community musician, street and folk musician. She specialises in healing music and T’ai Chi - based exercises for people with dementia, learning differences and brain injuries.
She started performing online improvised concerts during lockdown 2020, as a result of jamming online with Maggie Nicols, who introduced her to the Glasgow Improvisers Orchestra (GIO) and the Improvising Ensemble (IE). From there she performed with GIO, London Improvisers Orchestra and as part of Maggie Nicol’s Creative Liberation Orchestra in Stockholm in 2021. She performs in duos with Maggie Nicols and Steve Beresford. She co-leads the International Online Improvising Workshop with Tony Hardie Bick, the online sister of The London Improvising Workshop originally started by Eddie Prevost. Faradena also co-runs Aviolanche with Benedict Taylor, an all viola players improvising group.
