MUSIC FOR WOOD, STRINGS AND APPS: Workshop with AGF and Glenn Boulter

No Longer Available

Join sound artists AGF and Glenn Boulter in the OTO project space for an afternoon of playful music-making for all ages. Bringing together DIY string instruments and free digital apps, the workshop will focus on playing, experimenting and improvising together.

Each sixty minute workshop will start with a chance to experiment with amplified chopping board instruments using chopsticks, violin bows, mallets and other small objects to create a range of sounds from delicate, gamelan-style music to massed drones and percussive repetition.

We'll then move on to using iPads and touchscreen devices to sample, process and manipulate these sounds using free apps to create a piece of music for up to 10 performers. The workshop will also provide an overview from AGF into working with iOS apps and a chance to find out more about mobile music making.

All ages are welcome from 5 upwards. No experience necessary.
