Nick Klein

Nick Klein is an electronic music artist from the south and the north of the eastern United States. Klein practices as a recording artist who runs radio programs, a label, and events under the working title “ Psychic Liberation “.Klein has released record and tape editions with iDEAL Recordings, L.I.E.S., Viewlexx, BANK, Alter, Monorail Trespassing, Unknown Precept, Angoisse, Ascetic House, and more globally. Klein is interested in loud volume as form, and the sociology and ideology that presents in self-identifying music subcultures. His work investigates these tropes through touring extensively in Europe, Canada, and the USA. Klein spent the majority of his time in New York organizing performances for artists of the electronic music milieu operating on the fringe territories of experimental music circles. At the end of 2019 Klein relocated to Europe. He continues to expand his studio practice while writing for Swiss magazine Zweikommasieben, monthly radio projects for Montez Press, and curating his Psychic Liberation imprint.

Severin Black & Vanessa Bedoret

In light of their debut release ‘First Passage / Excommunicated’ on Archaic Vaults, Severin Black and Vanessa Bedoret will be performing improvised material and themes from this EP live together for the first time. Their collaboration first took form at the beginning of lockdown as a one-off Montez Press radio show via Whatsapp voice notes – a reaction to isolation and the pitfalls of making socially-distanced music. Severin Black’s simultaneous interest in droning energies and the destruction of fidelity is present here in split forms, woven between Vanessa Bedoret’s violin invocations, which are performed both acoustically and processed. The full body of work takes influence from ancient rituals, pilgrimages, and their new context within the current social climate.

Zeynep Ağcabay

Born and raised in Istanbul, Zeynep Ağcabay's music explores the juxtaposition of Eastern and Western influences on their identity. Growing up with traditional Turkish music playing at home, Zeynep went on to discover new roots in London. Their experimental approach aims to discover a unique blend of these two sonic worlds by composing unusual structures of abstract percussions, ambiguous vocals, ambient soundscapes mixed in with instruments inspired by Turkish ney, kanun, davul and darbuka. Their first release was part of the label Archaic Vaults cassette compilation ‘Continuing a Worn Out Tradition II', released in July 2021.
