Toby Kid

Conceptually framed in the legacy of the avant-garde and post-digital age, artist Toby Kid's work explores myth and philosophical discourses around the role of art and politics, towards a dialogue of how we build worlds. His practice is a celebration of unfinished ideas, as if they were perpetually questioned, debated, echoed in communication.

He is a founding member of the experimental guitar-pop group Hatcham Social currently releasing through Fierce Panda Records and works in collaboration with artist Adele Lazzeri in the PRAGMATA collective, developing curatorial and pedagogical projects. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, he has recently exhibited at Pi Artworks Extrospection curated by David Thorp, Sound & Vision Festival at the Royal Academy of Music, Bastioni Association in Florence, the Coventry Biennial, and Beaconsfield Gallery with the Partisan Social Club. Public projects include working with Coops UK on radical business concepts; forming collective DIY record label Crocodile Laboratories; and working with Future Narratives Lab as an associate, developing research into the stories that shape our present and future ideologies.
