with guest David Toop
After a very successful gallery residency project in the Crawford Gallery, Cork, Ireland, Strange Attractor return with a new series of durational live performances in venues across Ireland and England in conjunction with the publication of a new Book & DVD about the project.
The Strange Attractor project (featuring Anthony Kelly, Danny McCarthy, Irene Murphy, Mick O'Shea, David Stalling) comes to Cafe Oto, London, to perform live with special guest David Toop and to launch their new full colour book and DVD. Strange Attractor will give an improvised sound performance; an experiment with technology and combined media to explore creative possibilities resulting in an experience that offers multiple points of entry for the audience. The audience can expect a wide range of sound making devices including stones, self-made instruments, electronics, amplified textures, tabletop percussion, theremins, field recordings, radios etc. During tonight’s event, David Toop will say a few words about the project and his involvement with it over the past year.
These performances are in support of the new publication about the Strange Attractor project. This full colour Book and DVD covers all aspects of the project - including images from the live performances and gallery installations, live excerpts and other related recordings amongst specially commissioned essays from the likes of David Toop, Stephen Vitiello, Steve Roden, Jed Speare and Bernard Clarke. Signed copies of this publication will be available from Café Oto, The Crawford Gallery, Farpoint Recordings, The Pigeon Wing and Soundfjord.
