KAN MIKAMI
Kan Mikami Japan’s legendary surrealist folk singer will be performing his unique Japanese Blues. Mikami has been a singular figure in the Japanese underground since the early seventies. We are very excited to have Mikami playing three consecutive dates at Café Oto as part of our residency programme. Grab this rare chance to see him in the UK.
TAIGEN KAWABE
Taigen Kawabe was born in Tokyo,Japan 1986. He is a singer/sound artist/improvisation performer based in London.
Due to the influence of his mother, a Japanese folk singer, he was inspired by Japanese folk music and the Japanese underground music scene. In 2004, He moved to London and playing in several bands (PostRock/Funk/Rock/Noise). Taigen started to compose music for various media since 2005. His works have been used in fashion shows, plays, installations, contemporary dance, short film and animation. He also played in David Toop's Unknown Devises (Improvisation Group).
