Hibernate presents A Winter's Gift with Lowered and special guests
Clem Leek, Ithaca Trio
and Ed Hamilton. Tickets
include a free and exclusive compilation album!
Lowered create minimal compositions of long-form cello drones and
sparse piano over dark swells of sound and grainy field recordings.
Band members Chris Gowers and Katie English have previously released
numerous recordings under their respective solo guises Karina ESP and
Isnaj Dui. This project however sees a departure in approach as well
as instrumentation. Their forthcoming album ‘Lost Seas’ will be
released on Hibernate during December this year.
Clem Leek is a composer and multi-instrumentalist who's work is more
than often described as neo-classical. Although it certainly draws
influence from that genre, Clem's works is more soundscape oriented
full of ambient washes and rich panoramic drones.
Ithaca Trio is a collage of compositions, soundscapes, improvisations,
field recordings, manipulations and experimentations recorded by
various members of the Deus Ex Machina Arkestra and assosiated
sound-propagators.
Ed Hamilton currently uses his collection of Max/MSP patches, coupled
with a variety of acoustic sound sources, to create multi-layered
compositions that blend melody and traditional instrumentation with
shimmering electronic pulses and drones.
