Toshimaru Nakamura – no-input mixing board
Håvard Volden and Toshi Nakamura are releasing their first CD together this fall on the British Record label, Another Timbre. The music was recorded live at the festival Fri Resonans in Trondheim, Norway.
Håvard Volden is an active player from the new generation of Norwegian improvisers. Together with his 12string guitar, he uses contact mics, cd player, springs and other objects to produce music that are usually slow and patient, with a strong focus on space and timing.?

Toshi Nakamura comes from Tokyo, Japan, and makes music on the self-named “no-input mixingboard”. Nakamura has recorded solo albums, and has collaborated with Yoshihide Otomo, Keith Rowe, John Butcher, and Nicholas Bussmann among others.

John Butcher's work ranges through improvisation, his own compositions, multitracked saxophone pieces and explorations with feedback and extreme acoustics.
Originally a physicist, he left academia in 1982, and has since collaborated with hundreds of musicians - including Derek Bailey, John Stevens, Gerry Hemingway, The EX, Gino Robair, Rhodri Davies, John Edwards, Toshimaru Nakamura, Eddie Prevost, John Russell, John Tilbury, Paal Nilssen-Love, Phil Minton, Steve Beresford, Otomo Yoshihide, Fred Frith and Akio Suzuki.

Rhodri Davies works in the field of new, experimental and improvised music. He explores noise, live electronics, silence, texture and abstract sound. He has been based in London since 1995 and has performed in the US, Japan, Canada and Europe.
