Live Algorithms for Music presents a series of performances with improvising percussionist Eddie Prévost and guests. A number of short sets will take place, each in the form of a duet between the live performer and a intereactive, autonomous software system. The software designs have come together in a collaborative programming workshop with contributors including Andew Robertson, Sam Britton, Matt Yee-King, Sebastian Lexer, Tim Blackwell, Ollie Bown, Daniel Jones, Bill Hsu, Oliver Hancock, Alex McLean, Michael Young and Nick Collins. The concert will also feature other works on the theme, including Piano_prosthesis by Michael Young.

Founded in 2004, the Live Algorithms for Music research network has been interested in making computers do spontaneous, autonomous and novel things on stage with live musicians, bringing together science, engineering and musicianship. Following a successful concert in 2006 with George Lewis and Evan Parker, LAM returns with this series of performances at Cafe OTO as a result of a 3 day workshop at Goldsmiths College. The concert is programmed by Ollie Bown and Tim Blackwell and supported by the Centre for Electronic Media Art, Melbourne, Goldsmiths College Electronic Music Studios, Goldsmiths College Department of Computing, and Cenatus
