Jackie-O Motherfucker
Jackie-O Motherfucker formed in 1994 and have influenced countless contemporary sound-makers and musicians with both their freeform, modern interpretations of traditional folk, and their cut and paste, collective style of band membership.
Spiritually aligned with the free-music experiments of the late 60's and early 70's, as well as the lonesome folk and blues produced in the roadhouses and juke-joints of early 1900's america. JOMF have fused together the traditional song form and the improvising ensemble, into a powerful and engaging live band.

"I have no understanding of what makes Annie's music so powerful. I have listened to these songs so many times, and each time I take away something different and wonder how I could have heard it any other way. My hair stands on end thinking about the last time I saw her live!" - John Dieterich (guitarist for Deerhoof)
"This is music as still and graceful as sunlight peering through attic windows. Powerdove's songs don't just communicate matters of the heart, they're modest miracles of time and space." - Dominique Leone, of Pitchfork Media
"Lovely songs, fewer notes and more sounds"- DJ Wobbly
