CHARLES HAYWARD, TOMAS CHALLENGER, NICK DOYNE-DITMAS:
Trio featuring the percussive explorations of Charles Hayward, the underworld of Tom Challenger's saxophone and the 'stomach' of Nick Doyne-Ditmas's Acoustic Bass. Their first meeting in New Cross' Amersham Arms quickly led to the first gigs in gardens and clubs. Since, Charles (known for his work with projects such as THIS HEAT, CAMBERWELL NOW, MASSACRE, ABOUT), Nick (Who co-leads experimental group CRACKLE) and Tom (Who's other involvements include 'MA.', OUTHOUSE (+ RUHABI), REDSNAPPER and The Loop collective) have come together sporadically to play their unique brand of ultra-telepathic, shape bending acoustic improv. Past performances have veered from the serene, the rootsy, the abstract, to the genuinely euphoric highs that the trio discovered to be a basic part of their ever expanding, conversational improvisatory palette. This is a band that rarely surfaces - do not miss!

GLOCKENSPIEL:
Using tapes, electronics and guitars relayed through chains of effects, Adrian Dollemore's fundamentally earth-ground chords and astrally-projective processing paints a rural tonality with a bristling white afterglow. After issuing a limited editon run of solo cd-rs under the same name, Adrian began playing with drummer Steve d'enton, formerly of Peel favorites QUICKSPACE in 2005. Steve's direct but tactile style drives straight through the x-axis of Adrian's skyward guitar, with cymbals and hi-hats droning and splashing around his motorik anchor. As a duo they have recorded material with the group DUKES OF POUCH; at the time a quintet also featuring TONY BEVAN, JOHN EDWARDS and ASHLEY WALES. Marrying repetitive rhythms with a freely improvised feel, their music seems to generate a locked groove of accumulating sound and gesture. Having toured the UK with Krayon labelmates SUNSHINE REPUBLIC in 2005 and JACK NICHOLSON in 2006, Glockenspiel self-released the 24:48 ep; a CD of live jams, capturing the breadth and dynamic of their infamous live shows. Currently their debut album 'Enspiel' is available on CD through Krayon Recordings, Rough Trade and various independent outlets. A combination of the aesthetic of Adrian's earlier work and the sound they have honed as a duo, this collection of pieces displays a more electronic feel against expansive yet minimal compositions. Where glistening arpeggios rise and fall over gurgling analogue electronics, waves of processed cymbal and rich layered drones. Featuring austere contributions from sax player TONY BEVAN, Glockenspiel's forthcoming album will be released with the GRAVID HANDS label in early 2010. Expect ethereal tonal soundscapes and commanding, propulsive grooves.
PRESS:
ROUGH TRADE - 'warm, full & lush, taking the listener on a wonderfully cerebral journey through a vast & unique soundscape'
MATS GUSTAFSSON - 'Intensely meditative & ambient textures build swirling melodies that orbit your head until you finally give in to the sonic splendor. Rich emotional depths, adding so much contrast it's heartbreaking, highlight the more insular drones. The whole is very dream like & fascinating. Similar to being in the middle of a fog bank having totally lost your sense of direction'.
NINE HERTZ - '...so smooth, it really does ease itself around your ears like the soundtrack to an epic motion picture. You can almost see the river running through a massive valley & shots of empty streets at night. Beautifully minimal, building slowly but surely to every conclusion.'

LEVERTON FOX:
Live electronics/percussion trio featuring members from the London-based Jazz 'loop collective'. Alex Bonney (electronics, trumpet) also plays in Plummer’s WORLD SANGUINE REPORT, and leads a quartet exploring the music of ALBERT AYLER. Tim Giles (drums)’s other projects include the 'BBC innovation award'-winning FRAUD, GOLDEN AGE OF STEAM, and KOBY ISRAELITE (signed to TZADIK). The group's use of live trumpet and drums alongside field recordings and electronically-generated and processed sounds is by turns meditative and abrasive. Plaintive melodies and subtle timbres are buried beneath layers of chugging electronics and skittering percussion, emerging occasionally like buds forcing through tarmac. The music exudes a tension between pastoral and urban; acoustic and electronic, which is a source of endless sonic invention and variety. Now featuring Sam Britton of esteemed electronica duo ICARUS, the trio will be performing new works in the preparation for their forthcoming UK tour with HUMCRUSH (The duo of FOOD drummer Thomas Stronen and SUPERSILENT Keys player STALE STORLOKKEN)
