Le Volume Courbe (French for 'The Volume Curve') is the band helmed by Charlotte Marionneau inspired by the do-your-own-thing ethos of Nico, Patti Smith and Yoko Ono. After moving from France to London Charlotte Marionneau began composing and making tracks, receiving vital encouragement from musicians like Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval and David Roback, My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields and Colm O'Ciosoig, all of whom contributed to her record 'I Killed My Best Friend'. Most of which was recorded at home - a lo-fi punk record in attitude rather than in musical style. "A strange, otherworldly concoction of sounds filled with fragile vocals and haphazard guitars, flowing like an enchanting and elusive diary of dreams." (Forced Exposure)
Le Volume Courbe’s “Theodaurus Rex” EP was was released on the 7th November 2011 through Pickpocket Records. It is the first release on the label formed by Le Volume Courbe’s leader and lynchpin Charlotte Marionneau with Kevin Shields. The “Theodaurus Rex” EP was recorded by Charlotte with her friends and band; Melanie Draisey, Theodore Hall, Chris Mackin, Wildcat, Lascelle Gordon and Barney Slater. Unique, radical and rich with personality, Le Volume Courbe’s playful, powerful songs of innocence and intrigue are, once heard, not easily forgotten. It includes “I Love The Living You” (featuring Shields), “Born To Lie”, “Lazy”, and an interpretation of the Nico song “Le Petit Chevalier” – which Le Volume Courbe played at their first ever London gig: a Nico tribute show.

Currently they are working on new material and playing live gigs around France. This is their first gig in the UK.
Harvey Smith Salute formed in 2009 when Daniel Mead, Mel Draisey and Lal Townsend found themselves living in an old stained glass factory in a quiet North London suburb. Already involved in other groups (The Clientele, Le Volume Courbe, The People’s Revolutionary Choir, Caned & Able), the unique and remote setting inspired them to draw similar musical creative interests together and write songs to while away the cold nights. 2011 saw lot of moving and shaking that culminated in recruiting new members to the band to help turn their huge amount of demo material into an EP and live set, promising to create an exciting and busy start to the new year. With influences such as CSNY, John Cale and Big star, their dreamy weaving melodic harmonies evoke a spirit of mutual love for the friends and surroundings they share.
